हमारे घरों में अब मेहमां पुराने नहीं आते,
परिंदे भी अब घोसले बनानें नहीं आते |
जबसे रुख किया है इस शहर का हमने,
ख्वाब भी अलसुबह सुहाने नहीं आते |
सावन का महीना या नवरात्र निकल जाए,
अब कहीं मंदिर में जल चढाने नहीं जाते|
चाँद तारे रातों को मुंडेर पर साथ सोते थे,
अरसा हुआ हम सोने छत पर नहीं जाते |
यारों से मिल बैठे हुए अरसा बीत गया,
कुछ हम नहीं जाते तो कुछ वो नहीं आते |
क्या हासिल किया हमने गावों को छोड़कर,
माँ बाप भी हमसे मिलने शहर को नहीं आते |
